What to Expect
For Fertility, Pregnancy or Gyn
Health treatments
Your First Acupuncture Treatment
Your first session will most likely create some powerful
openings and inspire a new sense of hope. You will obtain
new, relevant information regarding your condition from a
Chinese perspective, and practical suggestions you can implement
at home to support your healing. I will recommend a course
of treatment that will get your condition firmly on the road
to healing, and you'll have a good sense of the direction
we'll be taking together. It's likely that you'll receive
your first Chinese herbal prescription.
Your first session will last up to 90 minutes. We'll spend
time talking about your current condition, medical history,
diet, exercise, and other lifestyle habits. I'll do a physical
exam, and then you will receive your first acupuncture treatment.
I will prescribe a customized herbal formula for you, which
you will receive 4-5 days later in the mail. Your initial
treatment costs $105. Herbal formulas generally cost between
$15-$25 per week.
Please come to your first session with your new patient paperwork
completed (download the paperwork here).
Bring the bottles of all medications, vitamins and other supplements
you are currently taking. If possible, refrain from wearing
makeup and perfume.
Follow-Up Treatments
Subsequent acupuncture treatments will last 45-60 minutes.
Generally, they will be scheduled either once a week or twice
monthly to guarantee optimal results. During these sessions
we will also modify your herbal formula as needed. These sessions
cost $75. If you are a full-time student, they cost $65.
** Women Seeking Help with Fertility
As part of our work together you will chart
your cycle each month until you become pregnant. Charting
your cycle entails taking and recording your temperature each
morning before you get out of bed, and recording other important
pieces of information, as well. This isn't difficult or time
consuming - it's just an extra minute before you get out of
bed in the morning, and it will give us very important information
on changes in your cycle that demonstrate the progress we
are making.
Please be sure to complete your new patient
(download the paperwork here).
** Women Seeking Support for Pregnancy
Some pregnancy symptoms, like morning sickness for instance,
require several treatments a week for 1-4 weeks. It can be
difficult to pay at the time of service for sessions spaced
so closely together. Please contact me to discuss payment
options. I'm sure we can find a way to make it work.

paperwork here).
** Women Seeking Labor Induction
Acupuncture with electrical stimulation (it's pain-free,
I assure you) is a powerful and effective way to initiate
labor. Generally, labor will begin 3-72 hours after receiving
treatment. If it does not, another treatment is recommended.
Also, I can show your partner or caregiver points to massage
at home to speed the process.
Our first (and hopefully only) treatment will last 90 minutes
and cost $105. Subsequent treatments last 60 minutes and cost
$75 ($65 for full-time students).
** Women Seeking Labor Support
I am happy to attend your labor to provide pain relief and
emotional support. I have to have seen you at least one time
in the office before your labor begins. Also, in order to
receive acupuncture you must receive written permission from
your physiican or midwife and the hospital. In Athens, Athens
Regional Hospital is very acupuncture-friendly and obtaining
permission should not be a problem.
The charge for me to attend your labor is $200, plus reimbursement
for expenses (gas if you live far away, and food (if I need
to buy it), etc.).
** Women Seeking Post-Partum Care
I am happy to help with post-partum care, either in your
home or at my office, and I am happy to treat you if we haven't
yet met. If you come to my office, the normal treatment rates
apply. If I come to your home the charge for a treatment is
$99. The cost of herbal formulas is additional and generally
ranges from $15-$25.
Please be sure to complete your new patient (download the
paperwork here).
